My Big Surprise

The Lifestyle Portal is so happy to showcase the talents of our little readers.

Here’s a guest post by one of our little readers Miss Pragyaa Munshi, a Class IV student of Delhi Public School, Gurgaon. This 9 and a 1/2 year old pretty lady loves reading, writing and dreaming; and guess what, she wants to become an author of children’s stories when she grows up. (And how we love that! :D)

Pragyaa had written this story (kindly note this is not an original story) as a part of her class assignment that was very well received by her English teacher and her parents; and to encourage such budding talents, The Lifestyle Portal is proud to show off the writing talent of this author in the making.

So dear readers, do spare some time to read her story and leave your valuable comments to encourage this young lady into a beautiful world of words, stories and imagination.

We’re also eternally thankful to her super mom Mrs. Mimi Munshi for painstakingly rewriting Pragyaa’s assignment in MS Word and sending it to us at such a short notice. So here goes – ‘My Big Surprise’, (A class assignment) by Pragyaa Munshi.

 [scg_html_choclate] MY BIG SURPRISE [scg_html_choclate]

It was just another night when I decided to steal a cow from my neighbour’s cattle shed. It was dark and I thought I was extremely lucky because I knew no one would suspect me since I always helped the villagers. I thought I could steal and get away with it.

When I reached the shed I saw four legs and a tail, so I thought that it must be a cow. I grabbed the tail and pulled it. But, to my astonishment I saw it run. When it came in the moon light, I saw it was a huge tiger. I was behind it so I was being dragged along the shed. However, I didn’t dare to let go. What if it ate me? It dragged me to the forest and just when I left it’s tail it ran away like lightning. I escaped from there and ran away with my life. I told my burglar friend about this.

Later in the morning I found out how the tiger came. The neighbour’s friend had come and he worked in a circus. He always had a pet tiger with him. The tiger was tame but it did not like people he did not know.

I learnt the lesson of my life – one bad deed deserves another, and I vowed never to steal again. I decided to become a farmer instead of a thief.
