Serene Spaces Décor – Elevating your home with earthen elegance

It was on a Whatsapp group that we happened to notice ‘serene’ pictures of ceramic and stoneware kitchen and dining ware. The elegant designs and high-quality craftsmanship caught our eye, and we couldn’t help but order a few for personal use and gifting. We were immediately impressed by the beauty and functionality of the products from ‘Serene Spaces Décor‘.

That’s when we reached out to the team and decided to hear their story. We found them to be young and enterprising, and we thought they deserved a mention. We got a chance to meet Garv a few times. He dropped by personally to deliver the ceramicware I purchased from Serene Spaces. We really liked his humility and dedication to his work and felt he and Yukti deserve a mention.

How did it all begin?
It all began with the idea of bringing beauty to homes. “We wanted to develop aesthetically pleasing décor to enhance the quality of people’s homes,” shares Garv Miglani, 19-year-old Founder of Serene Spaces Décor, based in Noida, who launched his venture on 27th January 2024.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Interior Design from Amity University, Noida, Garv is joined in his vision by Yukti Satija (19), his high-school sweetheart. Yukti is pursuing Political Science from Amit University, Noida and assists Garv as a Strategist and Advisor in this venture. “While I assist him in making product choices, brainstorming ideas, and identifying trends, Garv spearheads this entire project,” adds Yukti.

Initial investments
Garv raised funds by borrowing from his father and a close relative. He smiles, adding, “I borrowed ₹8000 from my father, ₹5000 from a close relative and pitched in my savings of ₹9000. Once my venture took off, I repaid the soft loans and now manage ‘Serene Spaces’ independently.”

How did you come up with the name?
The name’ Serene Spaces Décor’ has an underlying value that suggests peace or calmness. “As the name symbolises serenity, we strive to bring a positive aura with our earthenware to customer homes,” smiles Garv.

Challenges faced
Garv adds, “As in most new startups, we faced the challenges of sourcing the right product, analysing the market demand in the field, and ensuring that crockery or glassware is safe from breakage.

Secondly, the kind of field this is (pottery, hand painting) encourages small-scale artisans, which promotes local artisans.”

Sourcing & Product line
Sourcing is done from different suppliers, mainly Khurja (the ceramic city) in Uttar Pradesh. While the main focus is on ceramicware, to expand circulation and gauge customer attention, Garv and Yukti have introduced beaded coasters and are planning to venture into handcrafted home décor soon.

Going that extra mile
What made ‘Serene Spaces Décor’ even more special was that with every ceramicware bought for over Rs. 400 and above, Yukti would send us pretty trinkets like earrings as a thank-you gesture. Seeing them going out of their way to make a positive customer experience was heartwarming. The Lifestyle Portal wishes them the best!
