Homepreneurs are entrepreneurs who create and manage home-based businesses. While we have several success stories of homepreneurs, there are several limitations that tend to pull the business down or rather, drags it so that it never soars. Since homepreneurs are homemakers or students or people who are balancing two or more roles in life as they work on their business, challenges are aplenty – lack of time, lack of bandwidth, lack of funding, lack of human resources, lack of support, fear of falling short, fear of scaling up and more. On the other hand, what homepreneurs have in abundance are passion and ambition. And using the right branding opportunities and strategies, homemakers can make the most of what they have.

How the world looks at homepreneurs

The word ‘homepreneur’ in itself could create an image that is not very professional. The world may see homepreneurs as people who are into business because they have a little extra time on their hands; they are trying to create an additional source of income; they are not confident of making it big so they have started small (home businesses may be seen as small, if not branded right); because they are not as ambitious. They may also be seen as people who may not live up to expectations; who may not deliver on time and who can be taken for granted when it comes to payments. In short, homepreneurs may be taken for granted and even for a ride by the world.

It is important to create the right image through branding

A great product or business needs to go out in the world with the right face, traits, values and the right personality. That is what we mean when we say ‘branding done right’.

If you are a homepreneur and have faced the above problems; if you have never been able to tell your story right, or have been turning a blind eye to branding, then I promise this session on Branding Dos and Don’t for you will be an eye-opener.
