The Guilt Trip Food ReviewWritten exclusively for Buzzintown.

Fancy being a part of Alice’s Wonderland’s Mad Hatters Tea Party? Then you don’t have to go too far to taste those delicious cupcakes; just drop by at the nearest Guilt Trip outlet in your neighbourhood to dig into some soulful, sinful and heavenly desserts waiting for you.

If you have a sweet tooth, good for you and for those who don’t, maybe now it’s time to get baptised into being a sweet lover once you taste one of Guilt Trip’s miniature cupcakes. Their cupcakes are so adorably crafted and designed, that you will be bound to admire them before popping one into your mouth. The only guilt that you’ll probably have here is of gobbling down some of the finest creations in cakes, cupcakes and desserts when they’ve been so painstakingly designed and crafted for your tummy.

Guilt Trip Food ReviewConceptualised by a mother daughter duo Tabassum Hassan and Sheeba Hassan, Guilt Trip was launched by them two years ago with the first store in Khar. “As a home baker I always enjoyed baking and learning new techniques and constant support from my children led me on to start Guilt Trip,” mentions spokesperson and founder of Guilt Trip, Tabassum Hassan.

The original sin, red velvet and assorted mini cupcakes were some of their first few creations at the Guilt Trip as they went on to innovate and experiment to create tastes exclusive to Guilt Trip.

So we tried out some of their signature desserts – such as the Baked Caramel Cheese Cake (Rs. 120) – that came with a beautiful glossy peanut butter topping. Chisel your way to the slice to get transported to a happy island with all the goodness you can imagine. It is quite heavy and filling, so if you plan on digging into it after a lunch or a dinner date, suggest you share it with your sweetheart, but for those who always have a spare room in their tummy for such delicious cheesecakes, go right ahead and dive in.

Guilt Trip Food Review by Tanya MunshiThe other item on their list which we highly recommend is the Blue Berry or French Vanilla Macaroons (Rs. 50) – the macaroons come with a naughty crust that very cutely hide within them the blue berry or vanilla filling. Bite into it and giggle with joy. Such macaroons go very well with a piping hot cup of cappuccino.

And finally we tried their adorable little Original Sin mini cup cake (box of 6 pieces Rs. 100). It came with a beautiful dreamy swirl of chocolate on top. What is interesting to note here is that Guilt Trip frosts their cup cakes every two hours so you know you’re getting the freshest of sweet delights for your family and friends.

While we were there, Guilt Trip was ready to dispatch a wonderful box of boy themed cupcakes with cars, watch and shoes designed on it. We thought itGuilt Trip Food Review by Tanya Munshiwas truly creative and personal and we’re sure it would have brought a huge smile on the receiver’s face.

For the weightwatchers, you can order for customised cakes with a healthy twist! How you may ask, well one of their clients had ordered for a sugarless, flourless, no egg, cinnamon baked pecan
cheesecake. So whether it is an anniversary, birthday or any celebration, you need not sacrifice your diet anymore, a healthier option is always available at Guilt Trip, just give them a minimum of one-day prior order to get a sweet surprise.

And what do you know, they also make edible macaroon Rakhis for Rakshabandhan, which we thought was a novel and a fun way to celebrate the loving bond of a brother-sister duo.

Guilt Trip Food Review by Tanya MunshiApart from a huge list of cupcakes, macaroons, pastries, cheesecakes, brownies, mousse, pies and tarts, Guilt Trip also prepares vegetarian and non-vegetarian items such as Quiche, Croissants, Rolls, Sandwiches on a pre-order basis.

However you may get to readily pick up these from their Bandra outlet, for those who wish to drop by in the Lokhandawala branch, need to pre-order the items on the menu.
