A Hole Lotta Love, Koramangala – Review

Remember the days when you have often dreamt about opening a restaurant or a café in Goa after retirement?

Well, when you walk into A Hole Lotta Love in Koramangala, it gives a feeling that someone’s dream actually came true of starting a peppy café, that too even before their retirement – they’re so lucky and I’m so envious!

So keeping the envy aside, I walked in for an All English Breakfast on a weekday morning. I was in Bangalore on a holiday and I was exploring the city on my own. My cousin brother recommended this place and he swears by the juiciest burgers at A Hole Lotta Love.

I took a table at the verandah where I quietly sat by myself to seep in the warmth of the morning sun. A while later, a plate was served with heavenly portions of mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato, baked beans, toast and butter and sausages on the side.

It was a much needed mid-morning breakfast to help me start my shopping spree in Bangalore; come on, I’m on a holiday and shopping and eating are allowed.

The café has been done up with a lot of personal care and attention, with curious, colourful cushions and wall props. I liked their verandah seating which would be lovely during winters, their choice of menu is selective and the food definitely writing home about.

Service is a bit slow, but you don’t mind the wait if you’re sitting with friends. I was there on the Holi morning so a lot of ‘colourful’ youngsters had dropped by for breakfast after playing dry Holi. I took a verandah table watching the world go by and enjoying for a change a life that’s not as fast paced as life back in Mumbai.

A Hole Lotta Love definitely became my favourite hangout in the city as I came back here again to meet an old friend, where we girls caught up on life over Coke Floats (Rs. 100) and French Fries (Rs. 90). There was so much more for me to try here, especially the waffles, sandwiches and burgers – but that’s for another time in Bangalore.
