Brownnies, Kannur

I love visiting Kannur. I like the old world charm of the place, the beautiful villas and bungalows, large furniture malls and quite a few places to eat. However, my favourite place in Kannur is Brownnies. A popular cake and coffee shop that is frequented by school and college goers and adults.

Every time we visit Kannur, we make it a point to drop by at Brownnies for a cup of coffee and a donut, or a chicken cutlet. These are local made, so if you think these baked products are going to be exotic like their foreign counterparts, then I suggest you don’t go with such expectations. Brownnies offers good, hygenic, fresh baked products that come handy when you’re traveling with kids. Brownnies also offers chicken puffs, cutlets and fries, something to eat on the way or have it later on.

After a long drive through the narrow roads in Kerala, a stop over like Brownnies is such a relief. In Kannur you will find several bakery shops and you will get good bakery products as well. But some how, we love the homely and simple ambience, the polite and friendly staff  at Brownnies. They also make an effort to speak Hindi and patiently answer your questions about the baked stuff on display. My favourites at Brownnies are the coffee cookies, vanilla cup cakes and choco-chip cookies.

So the next time you’re driving through Kannur, keep a look out for Brownnies and stop over for a cup of coffee and something to munch on. They have a parking area right outside their store, so it makes it very convenient to park and relax with a cup of coffee.
