Shoe Shopping at Commercial Street, Bangalore
During one of our shopping sprees, we spent the entire day with our girlfriends at Commercial Street. We spent time shopping for clothes, shoes, bags – the works! Then one of my friends showed us a place from where she would buy party sandals and fancy accessories during her college days.
She took us through the bylanes of Commercial Street, and we reached a shop that was decorated with such lovely and bright coloured sandals, that I wanted all of them. Actually, the three of us wanted all of them, but size does matter. We picked up the ones which fit us and it looked lovely with churidar -kurta combination. Each of these sandals were priced at Rs. 100/- up to Rs. 200/-. Very competitive and reasonable and therefore ideal for college girls to pick up plenty and match every attire with their sandals.
I checked the sandals closely, the finishing was very good, even better than the sandals one would buy from Linking Road in Mumbai. I am jinxed with buying anything from Linking Road – they would never last more than a week, in spite of such care taken by me. So I reluctantly bought a few sandals from this shop at Commercial Street and it has been more than six months now, they are still in perfect condition. I usually wear them to casual parties with western and Indian wear and they look great!
So the next time you visit Bangalore and want to pick up really affordable sandals for casual wear, then take a walk in Commercial Street and find many a shoe shops in the narrow lanes and pick the ones you like. But mind you, since the prices are so low, the shop keepers don’t entertain people bargaining.
I truly loved this brilliant article. Please continue this awesome work.
Thanks for the encouraging feedback! Really appreciate it!
hi,can you give a landmark where that shop was located on commercial street…new to bangalore
Hi Ankita,
I had been there several years ago with friends and we just kept walking through the lanes. It must have changed a lot now, but most of these shops are readily available in every nook & corner of Commercial Street. If I can remember it was opp. to a fast food south indian restaurant, and I guess a lane opp. to Safina Plaza. The best thing to do is, just walk around and explore, maybe you’ll find something even better! 🙂
cheers
