How to pamper your senses at The Lalit Resort & Spa, Bekal

If you’d like to spend one day like a King or a Queen, where you get more than your money’s worth – then The Lalit at Bekal is the place to be. Not too far from Kannur or Mangalore, The Lalit comes as a blissful oasis in the Kasargod district of North Kerala.

Barely a year or two old, this resort and spa is yet to be exploited by many a tourists from India and abroad, who can afford a lavish stay and dinning at the brilliant Lalit Spa and Resort.

The Lalit is a top of the line popular chain of five star hotels, having a property in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Srinagar, Bangalore, Udaipur, Khajurao and now the latest in Bekal.

During my stay in Kerala, I have made quite a few visits to The Lalit with guests or to celebrate a birthday and every time I have always felt like going back to relive a memorable visit to The Lalit owing to their exceptional hospitality, cuisine and ambience.

On one of my frequent visits to The Lalit I tried out the heavenly Aromatherapy Spa & Massage.

The Rejuve Spa also has a variety of body scrubs, body wraps in heavenly concoctions of fruits and spices, Ayurvedic, hot stone and western massages, and body treatments. You also have an option of going for a Spa Packages, and all you need to do is book in advance by looking at their options in their website.

Honestly speaking, I was having a tough time making up my mind as to what I’d like to go for and the Aromatherapy session truly worthwhile.

The lady masseuse led me to a calm and a serene room that was refreshing after a long drive to The Lalit. The room had been done up in earthy shades of brown furniture and pristine white linen, with a large window over looking a foliage and soothing Indian classical music playing at the backdrop.

I liked the optimism and the positive energy exhibited by the lady masseuse and I think that is a very important element in a masseuse. Ayurvedic massages or any other message therapy is a science and one can only see the benefits if the person who is giving you the therapy is in a positive frame of mind.

My masseuse is a young girl in her twenties from a quaint place called Idukki in Kerala and has secured her Diploma in Ayurvedic Massage and Therapy from her home town. She had worked in several resorts in Kerala and Goa and now presently employed at The Lalit.

After relaxing session of Aromatherapy, followed by steam and a bath with Forest Essentials bath products completed the entire pampering process. At the end, I was seated in front of a mirror sipping herbal tea with honey while she dried and combed my hair. I felt like a princess that day and realized the beauty secrets of Cleopatra.

Finally I treated myself to a sumptuous buffet at the restaurant Nombili. A non-vegetarian gourmet buffet consisted of golden fried mussels, tender chicken tikka, grilled seer fish, mutton roganjosh, pulao, gajar ka halwa and pineapple pastry.

Somehow I feel, no matter how much I write good about The Lalit hospitality, it is not enough. It is only when you visit their property and give yourself a chance, do you realize what the word ‘luxury’ actually means.
