High on Tea – Cafe Review
Fancy sipping your favourite chai tea in an attic? The Lifestyle Portal has discovered just the place for you. Read on…
Some months ago, a new tea parlour opened up in our neighbourhood and it is such a big treat for all us tea lovers.
This new tea parlour is called High on Tea situated prominently in Thakur Village, Kandivali East, that serves some truly delicious quick bites such as grilled sandwiches and brilliant teas – be it hot or cold, brewed or boiled.
When the film Piku released in our neighbourhood theatres, my friend Pallavi Mehta (a mother of two and an economics professor) decided to pay High on Tea a visit and discuss the film over tea.
We share similar interests be it writing, music, reading, parenting, films, cooking – it is as if we’ve found a soul sister in each other. So we decided for our next film discussion we shall meet at High on Tea and for a change not prepare tea at home, and to get treated to some fine tea and hospitality.
And so we met up one early evening for a round of tulsi and green teas followed by grilled paneer sandwhiches – which we liked a lot.
The review we came up with on Piku was discussed right here at High on Tea, where we giggled as little girls over the chemistry between Piku and Rana in this delightful romantic true to life film.
Seating at High on Tea is slightly meagre, more apt for the youngsters who can climb a short flight of stairs to an attic like seating arrangement and sit on low-lying setties or chairs.
Though the service is a bit slow, maybe because they’re understaffed, but with the ambience and the good quality of tea served, you can sip at leisure while you look forward to your order.
High on Tea is definitely a place worth paying a visit with friends; though I wish, we could take my parents there, but that wouldn’t be possible as the seating arrangement is not very senior citizen friendly.
Otherwise, High on Tea tops the charts in terms of food, ambience and location and it is a refreshing take on existing cafes in the city. We hope to see a more spacious property soon with ample seating arrangements.
