Soaring Like a Kite: My Life as a Bird

Shloka Harbola, a 3rd grader from Gyanshree School, Noida and a student in our W.I.N.G.S Program, brings a spark of imagination and curiosity to every session. Her love for stories, colours, and creative expression shines through in her work, and it has been a joy to watch her grow as a young writer. With each activity, Shloka explores new ideas, experiments with language, and learns to express her thoughts with confidence and clarity. We’re so proud of her journey and the joyful energy she brings to our writing community.

This little essay may appear small, but when you mentor children and watch their imagination and expression take flight, it truly lights up your day. I’ve been mentoring Shloka for over six months now, and she continues to inspire me with her receptiveness, her effort, and the sincerity with which she applies every concept we learn. We’re so proud of her journey and the joyful energy she brings to our writing community.

Soaring Like a Kite: My Life as a Bird

If I were a bird, I would be a kite.

I would fly above the trees and feel the breeze. I have strong wings and sharp eyes. I am a non-vegetarian and hunt animals every day. I love to see the sunrise. When I fly further, my fellow birds and I glide smoothly in the sky.

I would make my nest on top of a tree from where I can see everything and my prey.

I would sit on a lamp post and watch the cars go by, as other kites do. I will go to people’s balconies to pay them a visit and call my fellow bird friends for a party.
