At our second Creative Reset Art Workshop, we explored a theme that truly resonated with everyone: The Superpower Switchboard. Each of us has an inner switchboard, but many of us go through life without realizing we can use these switches to change our energy, ease overwhelm, and reconnect with our strengths. This workshop helped women and young girls pause, notice, and gently take back those inner controls. The response was heartwarming. Women and young girls arrived with open minds and left feeling lighter.

Drawing Our Inner Switchboards

In this 90-minute session, which naturally stretched into three hours, participants created their own switchboards and labeled each button with qualities they wanted to use more often:

  1. Calm
  2. Boundaries
  3. Joy
  4. Focus
  5. Rest
  6. Confidence
  7. Clarity
  8. Self‑care
  9. Energy
  10. Saying No
  11. Asking for Help

To help with reflection, they color-coded each button:

  1. Green → I access this easily
  2. Yellow → I’m learning this
  3. Blue → I want more of this
  4. Red → This is hard for me right now

This simple visual exercise helped them see, often for the first time, what they needed more of, what drained them, and what they were ready to change.

Switching On What Supports Us, Switching Off What Drains Us

Once their switchboards were ready, we talked about personal switches: the thoughts that either nourish us or wear us out.

Switch ON

  • I am allowed to rest.
  • I can ask for help.
  • I matter too.

Switch OFF

  • I must do everything.
  • I’m not doing enough.
  • I can’t say no.

This part of the workshop led to gentle, honest conversations about the invisible load women carry at home, at work, and within themselves.

Everyone agreed that we all need to learn the art of saying no, without guilt or apology.

A Workshop That Flowed Beyond the Clock

The workshop was planned for 90 minutes, but our conversations became so meaningful that we naturally spent three hours sharing, reflecting, and connecting.

Over homemade refreshments, we spoke about how:

  1. a single negative remark from a relative or manager can trigger us
  2. last-minute changes, such as a house help not showing up, can disrupt an entire day
  3. women often feel guilty for resting
  4. saying “no” still feels uncomfortable for many

Affirmations That Stayed With Us

We closed the session with affirmations that reflected what the women needed most in their personal space:

  1. I can shift my state gently.
  2. I deserve rest and nourishment.
  3. My energy matters.
  4. I can soften what drains me.
  5. I am learning to choose myself without guilt.

These words became gentle reminders in the days that followed.

How This Workshop Helped the Participants

  1. Recognised emotional patterns
  2. Built awareness of internal choices
  3. Created a visual anchor for self‑care
  4. Reduced overwhelm by breaking states into “switches”
  5. Encouraged agency without pressure
  6. Offered a fun, creative, deeply reflective experience
