Starting my sabbatical journey
“You don’t have to know all the answers. Just take the next step.”

When you hit a dead end, there’s no point hitting the wall. When you’ve run out of steam, it’s best to step aside and hit the “Breathe-Pause-Reset’ button.
It is scary when you see your peers and juniors riding the wave and moving ahead – but who gets to decide when to hit your ‘pause’ button? After 21 years of working and a 10-month injury, I have finally taken the leap of faith to embark on a sabbatical journey that I owe to myself.

This is just the end of one chapter, it is not the entire book. There’ll be more to come. Until then… just breathe and pause until you reset your pace.

I took a sabbatical in 2017 after working for ~10 years in the corporate world. It was scary at first, with lots of self-doubt moments. But, today, after eight years, I’m relieved I took that decision. My sabbatical turned into an early retirement leaving me with energy and time to focus on things that I truly loved – reading, travelling & writing. So, hang in there! It’ll get better. Like you wrote, one step at a time!
Hi, thanks for sharing your thoughts. That’s really incredible. I’m so glad you’re enjoying this space. Same here, I’m quite enjoying this phase now. I have resumed my mentorship for children, senior students and professionals and taking this easy at my pace. It really does wonders!
