Soulful Artistry – Working magic with resin

We often face situations where we want to gift somebody something that is handmade, meaningful, with a purpose and a functional purpose. Since I launched The Lifestyle Portal, it has helped me evolve into a person who started appreciating and promoting handmade things more as they’re made with so much love and effort.

I came across ‘Soulful Artistry’ in our building Whatsapp group and was impressed with the aesthetically designed resin accessories. These would always come to my rescue when I had to gift family and friends something unique and helped me in my efforts to support small businesses like ‘Soulful Artistry’.

We caught up with Somali Hom Roy Bera, a 45-year-old the Founder of Soulful Artistry, in Noida Sector 137.

How did it all begin?

Before embarking upon the entrepreneurial journey, Somali worked as an administrative officer at a reputed school in Noida.

She shares, “In 2022, while my daughter was studying in class 11, she planned to move to another city for further studies after her 12th board. This prompted me to resign from my current job and spend some quality time with her before she moved out.”

Somali always wanted to do something of her own, so she watched many videos related to resin products. The creative outcome of resin inspired her to dig deeper into the process and learn more.

“After a few months of R&D, I started making products for my friends and family. Their feedback encouraged me to start Soulful Artistry,” smiles Somali.

This fuelled her hobby, which she turned into an entrepreneurial venture, with Rs 15,000 as an initial investment. She launched Soulful Artistry on 29 May 2022.

Challenges faced & how did you overcome them?

Somali admits that working with resin itself is challenging. There are many processes involved, and time is the most important factor when working with resin. Patience is the key to getting a beautiful resin product.

“With each and every product I made, I understood resin more. This helps me create more beautiful products,” adds Somali.

What makes ‘Soulful Artistry’ unique?

“As Soulful Artistry thrives on customer satisfaction, I always try to make flawless products,” shares Somali. For customised products, she discusses each step and shares pictures of all steps with her clients before making the final one. This gives her clients confidence in her work and also helps her create beautiful products according to their requirements.
